1 Hour Simple Dishcloth: Free Crochet Pattern

This Simple Dishcloth pattern is super easy, so it’s great for beginners. It goes by really quickly, and… it looks great!

This Simple Dishcloth pattern was one of my first creations with crochet. I remember working on it diligently and being so proud of the result! This dishcloth is simple, quick, but rewarding- the perfect mix. Sometimes you want to do something that won’t take a lot of time and effort, but still looks great and will be super useful!

I made chic little tags for these dishcloths and they compliment them so perfectly! I first printed out squares of paper with the words (find some tags for crochet creations here:

and then put tape over them. After really pressing in the tape, I put the squares of paper in the sink and rubbed all the paper off the tape. The ink letters will stick to the tape, and you can transfer them to anything you want- in my case, I put them on purple construction paper! For a tutorial on how to transfer words onto tape, check out this helpful youtube tutorial:

These dishcloths make great gifts- make a few, wrap them up, and stuff them in a few stockings! You can even add loops in the corners so you can hang them up after use.

Here’s a picture of a dishcloth using the same pattern but with different, thicker yarn, just to give you an idea of what the loop in the corner would look like:

So, even this is a much chunkier dishcloth, you can still see a bit of how the pattern looks like and how the loop would compliment it.

Let’s look at a picture of how YOUR dishcloth will probably look:

I love the slightly ribbed look of this dishcloth, and how soft it feels despite being used so many times to scrub at dirty dishes and wipe wet hands!

The materials used for this dishcloth are listed below:

Small-sized hook (I bought a set of bamboo hooks and switch them out according to the width of my yarn.)

Medium-width yarn in whatever color you’d like

And that’s it! Unless you’d also like a cup of tea, a staple in my home and a perfect addition to your latest crochet project. To see my perfect crochet environment, you can check out this link to Pinterest:
